When it comes to choosing a career path for our kids, parents are more excited than the kid! Because we know that this is one decision that shapes the entire future! So, you want your child to make the best choice. But your best choice may not be your child’s best choice as well!
So here are some tips that will help you in aiding your child make one of the biggest choices in their life!
Remember it is their life not yours!
The most important thing that you need to keep in mind is the fact that it is the life of your child and not that of yours! You need to remember that you made your choice years ago. And whether you were successful or not, is not their problem! It is absolutely wrong to push down your ambition onto your child. If he or she likes the ambition or aspires to be the same, then it is fine! But forcefully trying to live what you want through your child is wrong on so many levels!
Learn about their likes and dislikes
Next you need to learn about the likes and dislikes of your child. Before guiding them on what CPD courses they should be choosing. You need to know what they aspire, what they like to achieve in life and what are the subjects that they dislike. Unless you know about their likes and dislikes, you will be unable to help them make a decision! So, always first talk to them and learn about what they have in mind as well! You may be spending on them financially, but you cannot impose on them what they should be doing!
Take your kid to meet someone in the field of their choice
It is a good idea to take your kid to meet someone who is successful in the field that they believe is right for them. If they are unable to choose between two or more CPD Hong Kong programs then it best you take them to meet a person from each relevant field to decide the best one for them! Talking to someone in the relevant field will help them make a decision. But make sure the person you take your child to is someone who is able to explain properly the ups and downs of the field!
Be a companion
Finally, you need to be a guiding companion who is encouraging! You need to ne someone who your child can rely on to ask or tell anything. In short you need to be his or her companion in making the right decision. Because unless your child is able to make the right decision, he or she is bound to find it difficult to come up in life. An encouraging parent has always been a reason for children to excel in life!
